Primer has institutional capacity and knowledge unrivalled in the Lebanese market for the execution of marine works, encompassing ports, marinas, protection barriers, dredging and land reclamation.
Primer has been executing marine works since 2008, and is currently the leading contractor in Lebanon for the sector. We draw from a local and international pool of talented marine surveyors, divers, project managers, engineers, technicians and supervisors to achieve the most exacting standards expected by our clients. We have unrivalled capacity and resources for tackling major projects, and make use of international consulting firms for full design evaluations in advance of construction. We also partner with a select group of sub-contractors for certain specialized tasks such as dredging and secant piling.
Ports and Marinas
A good port is a gateway to the world. Nowhere is this better understood than Lebanon, which has the longest history of seafaring of any country. Primer has constructed and developed world-class commercial ports in Saida and Tripoli, as well as creating fishing ports and private tourist marinas such as Beirut’s Eastern Marina and Saraya Aqaba in Jordan.
Dredging and Reclamation
Primer harnesses local and international expertise, both in house and from worldwide sub-contractors such as Dredging International, as well as specialized equipment such as Lebanon’s only 650-ton crawler crane barge, to execute sophisticated marine works such as dredging, underwater excavation, land reclamation and ground improvement, safely and to a high professional standard. We have many achievements in this area, including the New Waterfront in Downtown Beirut and Tripoli’s Special Economic Zone.
Coastal Protection
To safeguard both coastal communities and sea-going vessels from harm, proper protective measures in accordance with the highest international standards are a must. Primer is well versed in the implementation of both marine walls and revetments, installing Accropodes or rock piles where appropriate to absorb the shock of large waves. The Group's ownership of several quarries and of a large fleet of transport vehicles helps to maximize operational efficiency by keeping tasks in house.
Flushing Systems
To prevent stagnant water in enclosed marinas, Primer implements effective flushing systems incorporating intake pipelines and inlet and pump stations.
